Its very existence is the cause of freedom. It's creator is the world's most passionate freedom fighter (Richard Stallman), backed by the world's most passionate nerds (yes, I am proudly one of them). It's only difficult for people who can't even comprehend the terms of Free Software. Long live the GPL, and pass it on! I wouldn’t say that the GPL is restrictive.
